Exterior Stairway487 viewsAt one time this led to an exit from "backstage" of the old gym/auditorium. As noted above, the shop room still had plenty of evidence of there being a stage in there at one time, and this door was part of it...

Side View486 viewsHere's a view from the other side. The room sticking out in the foreground was the science room pictured above. The door sticking out to the left is shown in more detail below.

Main Entrance485 viewsWhen the gym and classroom addtion was put on in the 50's, this became the main entrance to the school.

Plumbing480 viewsNot sure why Tim took this, but it shows the 'secret' area behind the boys toilets where the plumbing could be accessed.

Shop Room477 viewsAs noted above, 'shop' was no longer offered at M-T in recent years, so the portions of the room which didn't become the distance learning center kind of reverted to a messy storeroom. When the building was first built in the 1930's, this area, along with the band room coming up, was the school gym and auditorium -- you can still see the Proscenium arch in the upper right of this picture.

Fighting Lancers472 viewsThis Fighting Lancers banner has hung in the gym for decades. The Lancers mascot stopped being used for high school sports in 1988, and was retired completely in 2007.

Another Window View471 viewsLooking out the window again, this time toward the 'new wing' (built in the late 50's).

View down the hall471 viewsWhen we attended here, it just seemed like an old school. Coming back, it seems kind of cool. They've obviously updated it -- new ceilings, doors, etc. But that cool checkerboard floor goes back to when the building was built in the 1930's. Incidentally the old doors that were there when Tim was in school used these huge skeleton keys that each teacher had to carry around...

The stage471 viewsLots of memories from this stage-- class plays, concerts, graduations...
