Science RoomThis room became the science room when the Meservey building was vacated in 1983. The upper cabinets were actually salvaged from the Meservey building at that time-- somewhere Tim has pictures of his 6th grade class with them in the background at that location...Jul 31, 2008

Science RoomAt one time this was the Choir room, but in 1983, it was converted to the science room. It hasn't changed a whole lot since Tim remembers it in 1988-- those black tables are ancient, seeming old when he was using them...Jul 31, 2008

Pencils in the ceiling...When Tim was in school, people liked to fling pencils (and drumsticks) into the ceiling tile. Either they never removed them in the last 20 years, or the kids today still do the same...Jul 31, 2008

Band Room officeWilliam sits at the desk in the band room office. Tim's sister Deb used to teach band/vocal here and use this office... I believe at one time, this was the balcony for the old gym, which was where the shop room and band room now are...Jul 31, 2008

Band RoomWhen Tim was in 7th grade, this was the band room, and the choir room was across the hall. When the elementary came over, this became the combined band/vocal room. Jul 31, 2008

Shop RoomAs noted above, 'shop' was no longer offered at M-T in recent years, so the portions of the room which didn't become the distance learning center kind of reverted to a messy storeroom. When the building was first built in the 1930's, this area, along with the band room coming up, was the school gym and auditorium -- you can still see the Proscenium arch in the upper right of this picture. Shop Room tool areaSince the high school left 20 years ago, the shop room was largely converted into a high-tech distance learning facility (which for some reason I didn't take a picture of). But parts of the 'old' shop room still exist, like this tool storage area, which, although much messier than our old shop instructor Mr. Wiebenga would have kept it, is about the same as I remember it.
