View down the hallWhen we attended here, it just seemed like an old school. Coming back, it seems kind of cool. They've obviously updated it -- new ceilings, doors, etc. But that cool checkerboard floor goes back to when the building was built in the 1930's. Incidentally the old doors that were there when Tim was in school used these huge skeleton keys that each teacher had to carry around...Jul 31, 2008

LibraryAt one time this was the art room, then it became the 'elementary library' when the elementary came over in 1983, the function it evidently still has today. Some of the bookshelves were salvaged from the Meservey building when it closed. Jul 31, 2008

More plumbingVery similar to the other picture above, but for the Girl's bathroom. Notable how 'sexist' the thinking was when this was built in the 1930's: The guy's version of this was accessed from the boy's bathroom. The girl's version was accessed through the adjoining classroom. The thinking, I'm sure, was that the janitor would be male and couldn't go into the girl's bathroom easilly to work on stuff... Rumor had it that you could sneak in here and peep into the Girl's bathroom, Porky's-style...Jul 31, 2008

Another upstairs classroomTim had lots of classes in here: numerous english/lit classes, government, sociology... It was also directly above the boiler room and right next to the dumpsters outside, so you'd end up with interesting noises as the boiler did it's thing in the winter and the garbage trucks backed up the alley beeping away when the windows were open...Jul 31, 2008

Small officeThis room has some special memories for Tim. In 1982, he took a summer computer class and was exposed to computers for the first time. Then he started 7th grade and the school's only two computers, and Apple II+ and a //e, where in this room. Being bitten by the computer bug, he continues to pay the mortgage by being a nerd today... Shortly afterward this became the guidance counselor's office.Jul 31, 2008

PlumbingNot sure why Tim took this, but it shows the 'secret' area behind the boys toilets where the plumbing could be accessed.Jul 31, 2008

Computer LabOne of the more changed rooms since Tim was in school... This used to be filled with desks with IBM Selectric typewriters, were Tim learned to type. Then they partitioned off the very back part, making a small lab of Apple II computers while still having the typewriters in the front. Today, the partition is gone again and it's full of relatively modern Mac machines.Jul 31, 2008

Math RoomAnother classroom, this one the "math" room. There used to be a lot of (Apple II) computers along that back wall with all the outlets, when Tim was in school...Jul 31, 2008

Mr. Tudor's PaddleMr. Tudor has taught social studies/history at M-T since the early 80's. He was Tim's track coach as well as coached some great football teams over the years.Jul 31, 2008
