Small side rail completed436 viewsThe completed small railing, sans finishing. To get to this point, we cut each baluster to the proper length, glued it into position, and tacked it into place with a pneumatic brad nailer. Then, small "fillet" strips are cut to length and fit in the upper and lower rails, giving it a finished look. Rail spacing is carefully governed by code: a 4" sphere must not pass between any point on the finished railing. This required a bit of math and careful calculations, since the spindles are tapered.

Chinese Arch435 viewsHere's the arch that lets you know you're in DC's Chinatown. Good thing they have it -- the area is so small, you might miss it otherwise.

Previous Owner's Bedroom433 viewsThis picture shows the master bedroom as the previous owner had it. This bedroom is one of four in the home. We made major changes to the look in here as well-- new draperies, paint scheme, and new carpet. We'll get a picture of it here sometime soon.
