Concorde and FedEx PlaneOn display at the Udvar-Hazy center are many planes that are much too big to be displayed at the original Air and Space Museum on the National Mall, including this Air France Concorde. Also seen here is the first plane owned by Federal Express for delivering overnight packages.

Small side rail completedThe completed small railing, sans finishing. To get to this point, we cut each baluster to the proper length, glued it into position, and tacked it into place with a pneumatic brad nailer. Then, small "fillet" strips are cut to length and fit in the upper and lower rails, giving it a finished look. Rail spacing is carefully governed by code: a 4" sphere must not pass between any point on the finished railing. This required a bit of math and careful calculations, since the spindles are tapered.

Lower Lock and Dam EntranceThe entrance to the lower lock and dam is blocked. In the upper left of this picture, as well as the previous picture, you can see the wooden stairway that was added to give access to the lock until the debris can be removed.

The Old DeckThe last picture we took of the old deck before it was demolished. The rose bushes, which had just flowered, were cut back and later moved to the side of the house, where they are doing well.
