Finishing up the lower deckSome final touches on the lower deck boards.

Shed Foundation with BaileyFraming itself for the foundation went quite smoothly, once we had the rim joists leveled and squared. In this picture, Cathy double-checks everything before we lay down the plywood on top, as Bailey looks on. The building is next to Bailey's outdoor run, but the run is plenty long so that it's not blocking much of his view.

Rotten rim joistUpon removing the old ledger board, we found a terrible site -- water had seeped down beneath our patio door, for who knows how many years, and completely rotted out a large chunk of the rim joist supporting the back of the house, as well as the deck.

Singing around the CampfireWe even pulled out a guitar to sing some praise songs, as well as some old camp songs from our childhood.

WWII MemorialWe took a lot of pictures here since this memorial was brand new -- it was dedicated only 2 months before our vacation. We both felt this memorial was very well done, and a beautiful place to honor the many who served in this conflict. The memorial incorporates a lot of water and fountains, adding significantly to the beauty.
