KitchenWe did some major redecorating in the kitchen, using green/gray faux-finish look, and changing the cabinets to white. We also added some new lighting, as the previous didn't light the room well. The kitchen has enough room for a small tableas well. After this picture was taken, we replaced the range hood with an over-the-range microwave, and added new blinds on the window.

Upstairs BathHere's a view of our upstairs bathroom, which we totally redecorated. As with most of the house, this room was previously entirely almond -- walls, trim, vanity... It didn't look bad but we wanted something a bit more colorful. We went with a olive/navy color scheme, redid all the trim in white (which we also did throughout the house), upgraded the light bulbs, and added a couple new brass towel bars. Eventually, we plan on redoing the tub/shower area (not shown) and perhaps a more major remodel later.Mar 12, 2006

Side YardA picture of our "front side" yard. Here there are shade and fruit trees, places to sit, raspberry bushes and flower gardens. Click the picture to see Cathy and Bailey playing in the background.Mar 12, 2006

Pond and GardenA view of the pond from our freshly tilled garden. In 2004 we changed the nozzle on the fountain so it looks a little fuller now.

Green PondHere's a picture from fall 2002. As was said above, the pond had "greened over" with duckweed. Ducks kept residence until it iced over for the winter, though. You can see them to the left if you click the photoMar 12, 2006

Pond FountainHere's a picture of the pond, showing the fountain we added in April 2003. In the background is the back of our house, and also Bailey. The waterfowl actually seem to kind of enjoy the fountain. We changed the nozzle of the fountain in 2004 which gives it a better pattern, and helps keep it from clogging.Mar 12, 2006

Another view of the pond, with the fountain and part of our back yard. Mar 12, 2006

The Pond and GeeseYet another view (can you tell we enjoy the pond?) Geese, ducks, and other critters have been frequent visitors. We've had baby geese and their parents come and go. All the wildlife has been fun and fascinating to watch.Mar 12, 2006

Back YardA view of part of our back yard, with Cathy and Bailey still playing. By late fall when this picture was taken, our pond (in the background) had obtained a bright green coating. Starting in 2003 we retained a pond service to help with this condition and keep the pond in better shape.

Front ViewHere is the front of our home as it looked when we bought it. We've made quite a few changes: replacing the front entry and storm doors (the old one was Barbie Pink -- no kidding! If you click on the image to view the large one and zoom in, you can kind of tell), trimming back the overgrown foliage, removing the awnings, and adding green decorative shutters on all four windows. We also replaced the driveway, and widened it to the width of the rock in the picture above. Mar 12, 2006

Side ViewHere is a view from the side of our home. The pond is shown here, and is actually "L" shaped, framing one corner and most of one edge of our yard. The pond has been a wonderful natural element-- ducks, geese, a large turtle, and many other animals have been frequent visitors, and have been fascinating to watch.
