Animas River and the trainWe were in one of the open-air Gondola cars, which made for excellent photography. Many people in enclosed cars were a bit jealous over our vantage point.

Mesa Verde National Park fire areaA couple years before we were there, a huge portion of the park was burned by a wildfire, and much of the rest of the park had been burned just a few years before that. This picture shows some of the landscape at the time.
