Jewel Box437 viewsNear the zoo is a conservatory called the Jewel Box. It had recently been restored before we visited, so it looked great inside. The design of the building, which was built in the 1930's, was somewhat unique for a greenhouse in that all the glass panes are perpendicular to the ground. This was to help prevent hail damage.
