Grandma and William on 1880 Train417 viewsWe all love trains, so once again we took the 1880 train. The brochure admitted that the name was pretty much chosen randomly, since the railroad's equipment is probably closer to the 30's and 40's... But who cares about details, right?

Challenger Memorial414 viewsThere was a memorial for the crew of the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster that happened on January 28, 1986. Most of us still remember what we were doing at the time we first heard that news...

US Navy Memorial409 viewsWhile visiting the US Navy Memorial, we were pleasantly surprised to find the Navy Band setting up for a free concert later that evening. We stayed for the concert, which was a great experience. This picture shows the "Lone Sailor" which is a main feature of this memorial plaza.

WWII Memorial408 viewsWe took a lot of pictures here since this memorial was brand new -- it was dedicated only 2 months before our vacation. We both felt this memorial was very well done, and a beautiful place to honor the many who served in this conflict. The memorial incorporates a lot of water and fountains, adding significantly to the beauty.
