It's cramped at the Top...659 viewsFortunately, we didn't have too many people with us at the top, because that room is actually very small.

Korean War Memorial657 viewsThe Korean War Memorial is quite unique in that it contains many statues of soldiers in action. We visited this memorial at dusk, which contributed to the surreal nature of the experience.

U.S. Capitol654 viewsThe US Capitol, like many DC landmarks at the time of our trip, was undergoing major construction. We managed to find an angle which masked out most of the cranes!

Grandma and William on 1880 Train653 viewsWe all love trains, so once again we took the 1880 train. The brochure admitted that the name was pretty much chosen randomly, since the railroad's equipment is probably closer to the 30's and 40's... But who cares about details, right?

DC from Old Post Office Pavilion649 viewsWhat's actually a much better view than the Washington Monument is the Old Post Office Pavilion. It has much larger "windows" (actually there open screens), it isn't nearly as crowded, and the views are just as nice. This picture shows Pennsylvania Avenue looking toward the Capitol.

US Navy Memorial648 viewsWhile visiting the US Navy Memorial, we were pleasantly surprised to find the Navy Band setting up for a free concert later that evening. We stayed for the concert, which was a great experience. This picture shows the "Lone Sailor" which is a main feature of this memorial plaza.
