World's Largest Crayon1764 viewsThis is evidently the World's Largest Crayon. And unlike other "world's largest" things (the Louisville Slugger's Bat comes to mind) that aren't a real product but just look like one, this one's really a wax crayon. Evidently they had kids send in their stubby blue crayons and then melted them in to this bohemouth.

Black Hills Petrified Forest1730 viewsOn our last day, after driving through Spearfish Canyon, we made a last-minute decision to visit the Petrified Forest in Piedmont. It was a worthwhile stop, as you don't see this amount of petrified wood everyday!

Minuteman Missile1662 viewsWe made a very brief stop at the South Dakota Air and Space Museum. I say brief because our literature said it closed at 6pm, and when we got there (at about 3:20) we found it closed at 4pm. This museum, which is free, contains a large number of historic aircraft.

Budweiser1622 viewsOne rainy morning in St. Louis, we decided that a free tour of the Budweiser brewery might be the ticket to stay out of the rain. However, once on the tour, we found out that much of it involved walking outside! It wasn't too bad, though, and was interesting, even though the two of us aren't beer drinkers.

CDC 3800 data1585 viewsClick on the image to read about the CDC 3800. Note that it featured 128K of ram, and cost $1.9 million!

Mr. Rogers Trolley1549 viewsSomeone evidently sent the trolley through the "Honey I Blew Up the Kids" device.

Waterloo Boy1517 viewsHere Cathy poses with a John Deere Waterloo Boy in the Museum of American History. If you've browsed elsewhere in this site, you know we're John Deere fans. You can also find other Deere pictures from previous vacations to Moline and Charles City.

NewsBoys Rotating Drum Platform1345 viewsIn this picture, the NewsBoys were doing drum duet (with their normal drummer and the lead singer on two different drumsets), both on a rotating platform that tilted entirely sideways! (view enlarged it for a better look).
