Are you looking at me?584 viewsAnother butterfuly from the Insectarium. The "eyes", of course, are just designs on the wings.

Old Chain of Rocks Bridge575 viewsAnother view of the bridge, with its bend and narrow width.

Penguin and Puffin Coast573 viewsMore penguins. It was COLD in there-- the brochure said they keep it 40 degrees, which is quite a shock when it's 80 degrees or so outside. and you're wearing shorts and T-shirts! Note that this picture almost looks like a painting, but it is indeed real.

Insectarium572 viewsOne of the attractions at the zoo is the Insectarium, a building housing many insects, from the creepy to the beautiful. There is also a large dome filled with butterflies, which definitely qualify for the "beautiful" status. We snapped a few pictures of some of them.

Arch and Old Courthouse562 viewsA picture of the arch, framing the dome of the old courthouse which stands nearby. This is such an obvious location to take a picture that it has to be one of the most photographed spots in St. Louis.

A Room with a View553 viewsOne of the many pictures we snapped from the top of the Gateway Arch.

Monkey See553 viewsThis guy seemed pretty photogenic as well. He's behind glass, which caused some reflections, but it's still a fun picture.

More Butterflies553 viewsNot sure if I was fascinated with butterflies on this trip, or just trying out or schmancy new digital camera's Macro capability a lot...

Posing near the Arch547 viewsHere's a similar shot to the above, with a slightly tighter composition.

Bend in the Bridge546 viewsOne very unique thing about this bridge is that there is a bend (turn) in the middle of it. This was to help with boats navigating the river, but must have made driving tricky. The bridge itself wasn't much wider than a modern traffic lane, but held two lanes of opposing traffic.

I don't wanna grow up...540 viewsTim, who refuses to grow up, started making a sand castle on the shores of the Ohio. Cathy soon joined in.

Big Bat539 viewsWe then stepped back across the street to try to get the entire bat in the picture. Not the easiest thing to do, as tall as that thing is.
