Louisville Slugger FactoryOur next stop was the Louisville Slugger Factory and Museum. Here is where they make the world-famous wooden bats. We went on the tour, and got to take home a 'mini-bat' as well. Outside the factory is a huge bat, which we posed with here.Mar 17, 2006

The Rich get Richer...Churchill Downs was being remodeled when we were there. Of course, they had to tear out a 100-year old clubhouse so they could build a more 'posh' one for rich corporate suites. At least the twin spires remain!

Churchill DownsOur first stop was the Kentucky Derby Museum and Churchill Downs. Neither of us had the slightest clue when it came to horse racing or the Kentucky Derby, but the museum explained it all and was quite interesting. Mar 17, 2006

Falls of the OhioWe also stopped by the Falls of the Ohio, which is supposed to be a large, exposed fossil area, but we didn't get to see this because it was all underwater! Turns out the area had been flooding all summer (quite unlike Minnesota which was bone dry during the same period). We still got to walk along the overflowing river, and take some great pictures of the falls and surrounding area.Mar 17, 2006
