On the trainHere's a picture of the train on the way from Hill City to Keystone. On this stretch, the engine was actually "backwards" with the "rear" of the engine at the front of the train. The engines have been modified to burn oil rather than coal or wood.

Needles HighwayOne of our favorite areas of Custer State Park is the Needles Highway. There are so many scenic views and overlooks. Here, Cathy poses on a rock outcropping with Bailey.

Cathy at the SummitCathy stands in the lookout tower on Harney Peak. The view, particularly of the adjacent Needles formations, made it well worth the six-mile climb.
